My Story

My name is Josh Golden and I am the founder of Pilgrims Path, a nonprofit ministry created to walk alongside individuals and families affected by addiction with clarity, conviction, and Christ-centered care.

With seven years of hands-on experience serving in a residential men’s drug and alcohol ministry, I have worked directly with men in the trenches of addiction and recovery. That time shaped both my understanding of the complexity of addiction and my burden to see people placed in programs truly suited to their specific needs, not one-size-fits-all solutions that too often fail.

Pilgrims Path exists to provide guidance and advocacy at every step of the recovery process; from helping individuals find appropriate treatment programs, to offering court advocacy, to equipping families through biblically grounded classes designed to bring wisdom, stability, and hope into difficult situations. I believe recovery is not only about sobriety, but about restoration; spiritually, relationally, and practically.

Above all, my deepest desire is to see individuals come to know Jesus Christ, to be transformed by the gospel, and to live lives free from addiction to the glory of Christ. My work is rooted in the conviction that real, lasting freedom is possible; and worth pursuing with truth, perseverance, and grace.

If you or someone you love is struggling, or if you are a family member seeking guidance and support, I invite you to reach out. Whether you need help navigating the recovery process, finding the right program, or simply taking the next faithful step forward, Pilgrim's Path is here to walk with you.

Walking the Path Together

"Josh was the men’s manager at the recovery center that I ended up at. It was a year long program and in that year, Josh helped me countless times. I could ask him essentially anything. He’s very knowledgeable on scripture and an all-around chill guy, so it was really easy to come to him with issues or questions..."

"I met Josh in February 2018 when I entered a program in Murphy. I came in a broken man lost and confused from my addiction. That’s where Josh started to mentor me and helped me to start building a relationship with Christ. During my time with him and after my Graduation from that program I have seen Josh pour into so many men’s lives..."

"My name is Rusty. I am 41 years old and I was addicted to drugs for almost 23 years of my life. I was lost and undone and a slave to sin. Now, looking back over my life, God protected me and had favor over my life in so many different ways. Seven or eight years ago, I was diagnosed with endocarditis..."

"I am a walking testimony that God is faithful to answer when we call on Him. I have suffered from addiction, tragic loss of loved ones, and serious health issues. The Lord appointed Godly men to guide me and teach me truth..."

"When I first met Josh Golden, I was at an all-time low. That wasn't anything new to him, he had been around people like me for quite a while. That doesn't mean he had become numb or indifferent to people of my caliber. See, that had been his calling was to assist others who had lost their way..."
